Kalan Homes and especially Kim Thonn were the builders
of our second home. It is a 4-bedroom ranch located
in rural Lafayette.
From start to finish, Kim was able to keep to a schedule
that many builders brag about and then fail to deliver
on. Kim was very informative and open to what we wanted
in a home and what could be accomplished while keeping
the home within our price range. She had great ideas
for both design and structural alterations to plans
we just had found in a book.
Down to the finest details, Kim helped with being the
go between with the sub-contractors, appliance deliverers
and with making sure the work achieved not only met
our standards but stricter ones she imposed. On the
day before we were to close, Kim had come to help me
paint our bedroom the color we had selected.
Even months later, she was available to help us with
any and all questions new homeowners have. I would whole-heartedly
recommend Kalan Builders should I ever need another
home built. "

"I highly recommend KALAN Homes to anyone considering
building a new house. KALAN did a wonderful job of
creating a home of which l am very proud. I have lived
in the house for a year and a half without any real
problems or complaints.
I was very impressed with the way that Kim Thonn studied
my basic drawings and listened to my desires, and
then made a workable plan for the house that fits
the location and me perfectly. Also, I appreciated
her hands-on approach with frequent inspections that
resulted in the “fix this/do that” instructions,
which were left tacked to a stud or posted on the
door. She certainly was directly involved in all phases
of construction and was watching out for my best interests.
All of the subcontractors used were extremely conscientious,
hard working and friendly. My son, who has worked
in many areas of construction, commented that the
framers had done an excellent job and had taken no
shortcuts. Several times the contractors went out
of their way to make things the way I wanted them
or to add special touches just to do the job right.
With all of this, the final price was within the original
estimate.
I am very happy with my new home and enjoy showing
it off at every opportunity, thanks to Kim and KALAN
Homes."
